A stunning Napoleon III period glove box, exquisitely crafted in France circa mid-19th century. The lid features intricate marquetry inlay framed by a bronze border. The box is further adorned with fine gilt bronze (ormolu) hardware, including ornate mounts and a decorative cartouche clasp.
Inside, the original pale silk lining remains intact, gently time-softened but still rich with historic character — a rare survivor that highlights the box’s age and authenticity.
Perfect for collectors of French decorative antiques, or for use as a luxurious jewelry or keepsake box on a vanity or writing desk.

Condition: There is no key. The box remains closed, though will open spontaneously if lid is moved. Inside silk lining is original and shows signs of wear. Missing silk from the lid as shown. Some minor splits in the wood veneer.
